PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preclude destruction of wires of a strand to constitute a bead core, generated by existence of a step at the starting part of winding of the strand. SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire is structured so that the strand in tape shape formed by covering a plurality of wires laid in line with rubber is wound round in a spiral shape so as to form the bead core, which is embedded in the bead part at the internal circumferential end part of the tire, wherein the bead core has at least one sheet layer to serve as a cushion material interposed between the strand at the starting part of winding and the strand in the adjoining peripheral layer in the step position generated at the starting part of winding located at the innermost in the strand.
