A process for producing sealed mold core (4), comprises producing mold core out of water soluble material in primary mold (2), removing core (6), locating it in a second mold, and filling plastic material into the space between outer contour of core and inner contour of second mold. The plastic material is allowed to harden to a rubber elastic outer sleeve (14), which surrounds and seals core. A process for producing a sealed mold core (4), comprises producing a mold core out of a water soluble material in a primary mold (2), removing the core (6), locating it in a second mold which has the external contours of the final core, and then filling a plastic material into the space between the outer contour of the core and the inner contour of the second mold. The plastic material is allowed to harden to a rubber elastic outer sleeve (14), which surrounds and seals the core. The core is then removed from the mold. The water-soluble core is positioned using spacers (12) made of the same material that is filled into the mold.
