REMEDIES FOR PROSTATIC HYPERTROPHY

It is intended to provide novel preventives and/or remedies for prostatic hypertrophy and proliferation inhibitors for normal cells in the prostate gland which can inhibit the excessive proliferation of normal cells in the prostate gland, is efficacious against both of hypertrophy due to the proliferation of epithelial cells and hypertrophy due to the proliferation of interstitial cells, shows little side effects and is usable either alone or as a combination with a drug having been employed in drug therapy, and a method of using the same. Namely, preventives and/or remedies for prostatic hypertrophy comprising, as the active ingredient, a compound having antagonism to angiotensin II receptor, a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof or a prodrug of the same.
