<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus which can suppress the generation of boundary bleeding while the generation of density irregularities of a recording region such as a meshed part (uniform half tone region) recorded by black ink where a change rate of a recording duty is relatively small is reduced, and also which can record high-quality black characters and the like, and to provide an inkjet recording method. <P>SOLUTION: A region where color dots are to be formed and a recording region adjacent to the region are detected by a detection process E1013 for a color adjacent matrix. The recording region where the change rate of the recording duty of black dots is relatively small is detected by a detection process E1001 for a black uniform half tone matrix.
