<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more realistic design support method, device and program for laying a linear structure that allow precisely understanding the way the structure changes in shape as it is deformed a number of times before assuming it final shape. <P>SOLUTION: A shape predicted when a position to which a first control point 1a4 on a finite-element model corresponding to an initial shape 1a is forcibly displaced is given as one of constraint conditions is calculated as a first predicted shape 1d. Further, a shape predicted when a position to which a second control point 1d8 on a finite-element model corresponding to the first predicted shape 1d is forcibly displaced is given as one of the constraint conditions is calculated as a second predicted shape 1z.
