METHOD FOR PRODUCING HEAVY METAL ADSORBENT FROM WASTE AND HEAVY METAL ADSORBENT OBTAINED BY THE METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a heavy metal adsorbent usable in e.g., treatment of toxic heavy metals by using wastes as a raw material, to provide a heavy metal adsorbent obtained by the method, and to recycle wastes. SOLUTION: The heavy metal adsorbent is produced by calcining at 300 to 1,100°C a calcium aluminate hydrate synthesized from a mixed slurry obtained by adding waste aluminum and water to seashell ash obtained by calcining seashells at 900°C or higher. The heavy metal adsorbent obtained by the method can effectively treat heavy metals by adding it to a heavy-metal-containing object to be treated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
