PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten required machining time as compared with a conventional device, even when the area of the whole machining surface of work is comparatively large. SOLUTION: An actuator 18 reciprocates a tool holder 12 supporting a cutting tool 10 and a slide table 16 so as to make a tip end of a cutting blade of the cutting tool 10 cut according to a generally elliptical track with its minor axis formed in generally parallel with a normal of a curved surface 2a of a work.
