A security catch, e.g. for fixing a solar panel in position, has a plate with lipped edges to grip of the edges of the panels and prevent them being slid out of position. The bottom of the plate has a stepped shape to sit in the gap between adjacent panels. The plate is made of aluminium alloy, steel or of any other suitable material. A central countersunk hole locates a security threaded fastener.
