<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient inexpensive fuel cell reduced in the number of components as many as possible in comparison with the conventional one with easy handling to assemble or disassemble it. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell comprises a solid polyelectrolyte film 33, a gasket 31 and an electrode 32 with a diffusion layer arranged on one surface of the film 33, an air electrode separator 20 put on it, an air electrode side plate 10 prepared on the air electrode separator, the gasket 31 and the electrode 32 with diffusion layer arranged on the other surface of the film 33, a hydrogen electrode separator 40 placed on it, a hydrogen electrode side plate 50 put on the hydrogen electrode separator, and assembly components 60 fastened with screws to combine them to compose a single cell between the air electrode side plate and the hydrogen electrode side plate.
