<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve purifying efficiency of exhaust gas and reduce a time period required to reach a catalyst activation temperature in a metal catalyst support having a core which is formed of a metal corrugation plate having rectangular or trapezoidal corrugations and flat plates piled and rolled up with tops and bottoms of the corrugation plate brought into contact with the flat plates. <P>SOLUTION: The metal catalyst support has the core 3 which is formed of the corrugation plate 1 having the rectangular or trapezoidal corrugations and the flat plates 2 piled and rolled up with the tops 5 and the bottoms 6 of the corrugation plate 1 is brought into contact with the flat plates 2.
