<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packet format or structure so that a packet is intended to be transmitted at a lower transmission rate and used in a wireless network having a portion including a packet destination address. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to packet structure or format for communications in whole multiple access networks such as wireless local area networks (WLAN). The present invention provides a device for use in a wireless network and comprising: a means for generating a packet comprising a first portion having a destination address and preferably a network duration identifier for a recipient device in the network, and a second portion; a means for transmitting the first portion at a predetermined coding and/or modulation rate; and a means for transmitting the second portion at a higher coding and/or modulation rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
