摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for obtaining satisfactory fuel consumption performance or exhaust emission control performance from immediately after switching from partial cylinder operation to all cylinder operation in a variable cylinder internal combustion engine in which cylinders of a multi cylinder internal combustion engine are divided in a plurality of cylinder groups, an exhaust emission control device is installed for every cylinder group and the partial cylinder operation wherein parts of the cylinder groups are rested and the all cylinder operation wherein all the cylinders are operated are switched over according to operation condition. <P>SOLUTION: In the variable cylinder internal combustion engine, when the partial cylinder operation is switched to the all cylinder operation (S104), combustion temperature raising control is performed for raising exhaust temperature with respect to the cylinders in the cylinder groups rested (S106). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p>
