PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microporous membrane which excels in heat resistance, exhibits excellent impregnability and permeability in an electrolyte, and is suitable as a separator for an electricity storage device. SOLUTION: The microporous membrane has a three-dimensional network structure composed of fibrils consisting of a thermoplastic resin having a melting point of 180-300°C. The membrane has a thickness of 5-200μm, a porosity of 20-95%, and a heat shrinkage factor at 150°C of≤15%, andthe number of fibril lamination layers of the membrane is less than 1.
