<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting bone dysbolism using a gene intensely expressing in osteoclast, to provide a method for screening a compound having the effect(s) of preventing and/or treating bone dysbolism, and to provide a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and/or treating bone dysbolism. <P>SOLUTION: The method for detecting bone dysbolism with the expression of human DC-STAMP (dendritic cell-specific transmembrane protein) gene as criterion is provided.
