PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer which has a low level of decomposition at high temperatures of≥200°C where an optical member is formed and has excellent balance of low hygroscopicity and heat resistance, and to provide an optical material consisting of the polymer. SOLUTION: The polymer comprising at least one kind of a methacrylate unit selected from the methacrylate units represented by formula (1) and formula (2), and the optical member consisting of the polymer are provided.
