PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lateral vibration of an extension device by restricting deformation of a guide member when lateral directional external force is applied to the extension device such as a gas spring device. SOLUTION: A chair 10 is provided with a seat part 11 and leg parts 12 provided under the seat part 11. The leg part 12 is provided with a support pipe 22 provided with a shape opened in an upper end thereof, the gas spring device 24 arranged inside the support pipe 22 and the guide member 25 fitted to an upper end of the support pipe 22. The guide member 25 is provided with a cylinder main body 35 passing through an elevating shaft 27 of the gas spring device 24, a plurality of ribs 36 projected outside in the radial direction from the peripheral surface of the cylinder main body 35 and to be brought in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the support pipe 22, and a flange-like part 37 provided in an upper part of the cylinder main body 35 and each of ribs 36 and provided with a reinforcing surface part 43 having an area to be brought in contact with the inner peripheral surface of the upper part of the support pipe 22.
