PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a high temperature carburized steel excellent in crystal grain-coarsening preventive characteristic with which the development of the coarse grain at the high temperature carburizing time is prevented and the normalizing treatment after hot-forging can be saved. SOLUTION: The method for producing the carburized steel, can save the normalizing by using the steel composed by mass% of 0.1-0.35% C, 0.05-0.5% Si, 0.2-2.0% Mn, 0.1-0.3% one or two of Ti and Nb, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities as a base stock, and heating to≥1200°C at hot-forging time and cooling at≤2°C/sec cooling speed during 780-500°C after securing a cooling time of≥5 min at≥780°C after hot-forging.
