PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method which involves little risk of damaging an object to be coated under low-speed coating conditions and which does not requires the recovery of a coating liquid. SOLUTION: In the coating method, a sheet-form substance 1 is made to run substantially in the horizontal direction at the rate of 0.1-10 m/min, and the coating liquid is supplied from above the sheet-form substance 1. Thereafter, by blowing air to the sheet-form substance 1 from an air nozzle 3 and generating a coating liquid pool 5 extending over the whole coating width in the upstream side of the air nozzle 3, an uniform coating surface 4 is provided.
