<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the carrier offset in a radio communication system with reducing the circuit scale and the power consumption at the terminal station side. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile station 5 has no AFC and directly inputs demodulated digital IQ data by a quadrature demodulator 52 to a frequency converter 55. A transmission processor 10 in a base station 2 transmission IQ data to analog signals after the inverse frequency conversion, a modulation processor 78 modulates and transmits the data. At this time the base station 2 receives packets from the mobile station 5, and, about a mobile station 5 being a transmission target, an AFC 26 detects the carrier offset quantity a receiving processor 50 in the target mobile station 5 has. When the base station 2 transmits RF signals to the mobile station 5, it transmits after canceling the carrier offset of each transmission target mobile station 5 under the control of an offset corrector 30, based on the detected carrier offset quantity.
