<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement compressor provided with a drive shaft, a rotor fixed on the drive shaft, a sleeve externally fitting on the drive shaft movably in a drive shaft extension direction, a coil spring energizing the sleeve toward the rotor, a swash plate connected to a sleeve in such a manner that angles in relation to the drive shaft can be changed and connected to the rotor in such a manner that relative rotation can not be done via a link mechanism, and a piston reciprocating in parallel with the drive shaft with accompanying rotation of the swash plate, and having variation of the minimum delivery quantity between products suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: A recess part is formed on a part of a circumference surface of the drive shaft and the sleeve is externally fitted on a part of the drive shaft on which the recess part is formed. The sleeve abuts on an end surface of the recess part on a side separating from the rotor.
