PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fan motor of which the rolling fatigue life of a bearing which requires long-hours of validation test is easily predicted in a design stage, to decide bearing and preload structure having roller fatigue life of hundred thousand hours or longer. SOLUTION: The fan motor comprises one or more bearings 5 in which a plurality of rolling bodies 8 are arranged between an outer ring 6 and an inner ring 7 while a lubricant is interposed between the rolling body 8, outer ring 6, and inner ring 7 that are rotating, a rotating shaft 10 which is engaged with the inner ring 7 of the bearing 5 and is rotated by the rotational force of a motor, and an impeller 11 which is fixed to the rotating shaft 10 and is provided radially with a plurality of blades 14. The axial load represented by SI unit system applied on the bearing 5 is set 1.2 times or less than the product of the basic dynamic nominal load represented by the SI unit system of the bearing 5 and the outer diameter of the bearing represented by the SI unit system.
