PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress ripple voltage, by lessening the variation of the on-time of a switching element at switching of frequency by improving a PWM control system more than the conventional ones. SOLUTION: This switching regulator is equipped with a reference voltage source circuit 11, an error amplifier 12 which amplifies the voltage difference between the reference voltage 11 and the divided voltage of the output of a switching regulator, an oscillation circuit 10A which outputs rectangular waves, and a PWM controller 16 which modulates the pulse width of the rectangular waves, by controlling the current by the output voltage of the error amplifier 12. This can vary the efficiency of the switching regulator, by changing the frequency of an oscillator by the magnitude of output load. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
