PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform communication between a data terminal device and a data communication apparatus just while communication is continued between a host and the data terminal device. SOLUTION: Between a data terminal device 101 and a host 121, communication is performed using a port number other than a predetermined port number. Between the data terminal device and a data communication apparatus 111, communication is performed using the predetermined port number. When a port number of a packet sent from the data terminal device is the predetermined port number, the data communication apparatus does not transfer the packet to the host but performs predetermined processing and transmits a result of the processing to the data terminal device using the predetermined port number. When a port number of a packet sent from the data terminal device is not the predetermined port number, the data communication apparatus transmits the packet to the host and transfers a packet sent from the host to the data terminal device.
