PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select an optimum camera corresponding to the viewpoint of an animal from among a plurality of cameras. SOLUTION: In this image processing device 10 when a viewer's position is specified, a viewer position similarity operating section 14 calculates an area of▵C<SB>k</SB>PQ formed by the viewer's position P, the position of a camera C<SB>k</SB>and a viewpoint Q. At the same time, the section 14 calculates an angle formed by an optical axis center vector e<SB>k⊥</SB>of the camera Ck and a vector PQ. A camera selector 15 selects two Cks in an order of cameras having a smallest value obtained by substituting the area and the angle into a predetermined evaluation formula E(C<SB>k</SB>). The two selected cameras Ck<SB>min1</SB>and Ck<SB>min2</SB>photograph a field A to be photographed centered at the viewpoint Q, and output photographed images to an arbitrary viewpoint image generator 16.
