PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index mark setting system in which an operator can set an index mark without requiring a special operation dedicated to setting of an index mark. SOLUTION: An input item decision section 5 makes a decision whether item data 16 recorded in a data base 13 is included in information inputted from an information I/O unit 2. If a decision is made that the item data 16 is included, a receiving data setting section 6 records the time elapsed after recording of a telephone conversation file 12 is started before information is inputted in the data base 13 as a relative time. When the telephone conversation file 12 is reproduced, a telephone conversation file INDEX processing section 7 displays it at a position on a seek bar being indicated by the relative time when the telephone conversation file 12 is reproduced while attaching an index mark.
