METHOD, DEVICE AND PROGRAM FOR EXTRACTING WORD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract words in a way that allows dealing with the newest words with higher precision than before, thereby obtaining topical words useful to users, and calculating topicality using a plurality of topicality calculation means and a method designated by a user. SOLUTION: A crawler 11 collects in a designated cycle and from the Internet 2 the documents updated after the previous collection, and processes the documents for output to a document DB 16. An object document assembly data creating part 12 creates an assembly of object documents for the extraction of topical words by bundling the collected documents whose update dates are included in a period designated independently of the cycle. The data creating part then calculates statistic amounts for output to a object document assembly DB 17. A word extracting part 13 extracts words from the assembly of object documents. A topicality calculating part 14 calculates the topicality of each word using the designated method and on the basis of the statistic amounts related to the previous and current assemblies of object documents, and outputs to a topical word DB 18 a list of topical words arranged in order of decreasing topicality.
