PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum type washing machine or a washing and drying machine provided with a structure for preventing laundry from being shifted to the low position of a rotary drum in the case the rotary drum is placed in an inclined state. SOLUTION: A rotary member 30 is formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape and has a relative rotation speed different from the rotation speed of the rotary drum 5 on the inner bottom part of the rotary drum 5, the laundry on a drum bottom surface side is forcibly moved, and a state where the laundry is shifted to the bottom surface side of the inclined rotary drum 5 is prevented.
