OUTPUT DEVICE AND RADIO COMMUNICATION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output device and a radio communication device which can appropriately notify the operator of the communication status when data is transmitted by the operator from a portable terminal or the like to an output device by radio communication.

SOLUTION: A card slot 12 is provided at a right lower part of the front of a main body 2 of a printer. A CF-type communication card 13 is inserted into the card slot 12 such that the card can be pulled out therefrom. The CF-type communication card 13 incorporates an IrDA-based infrared-ray communication module, the front of which has an infrared-ray receiving/transmitting portion 13a serving as a communication port and a display portion 13b for notifying the data communication status. Printing can be performed by transmitting data from a portable phone 14 to the CF-type communication card 13 by infrared-ray communication. The infrared-ray receiving/transmitting portion 13a and the display portion 13b are positioned within one eyesight of the operator who transmits data from the portable phone 14.
