<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a motor control method being electronically commutated and a corresponding motor control apparatus, allowing motor efficiency and motor noise behavior to be optimized under load. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for controlling an electronically commutated motor, motor current is intervened which depends on the operating parameters of a motor. The motor current is changed with the adaptability which depends on the operating parameter of the motor so that the motor current for generating minimum noise is adapted, when the value of the operating parameter is below a specified threshold value; while the motor current for obtaining the maximum efficiency of the motor is adapted, when the value is above the specified threshold.
