METHOD FOR PRODUCING PROTEIN, AND COMPOSITION, REAGENT AND KIT USED THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a protein, by which the protein is synthesized in a soluble state in a cell-free protein-synthesizing system.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the protein comprises making a gene encoding the protein and a PPIase (peptidylprovyl isomerase) having a molecular chaperone activity to coexist in a cell-free extract to express the gene, thus synthesizing the target protein by the action of the PPIase. The PPIase having the molecular chaperone action includes PPIases originated from old bacteria. Since the PPIase does not need a nucleotide triphosphate such as ATP for the expression of the molecular chaperone activity, the protein can more simply and economically be synthesized than the conventional molecular chaperone-using systems.
