PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) foam, which exhibits excellent molding processability and productivity of a molded article owing to its rapid crystallization rate, using neither an expensive blowing agent nor an expensive molding machine, and to provide a foam obtained by the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) foam comprises heating the poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) polymer having a water content of 0.1-10 wt% as measured by the Karl Fischer method to cause it to expand.
