FLAT-SHAPED THICK-WALLED CONTAINER COMPRISING POLYETHYLENE NAPHTHALATE RESIN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat-shaped thick-walled container with a mouth part having a wall thickness ensuring sufficient bending rigidity, having a large volume, sufficient strength and impact resistance and obtained by the blow molding of a PEN resin. SOLUTION: A preform not substantially containing spherulites and voids at least in its body part with an average wall thickness of 15-50 mm is prepared to be expanded by a expansion factor in surface area of 8-20 to form a primary blow molding 46. The primary blow molded body 46 is compressed by a compression factor of 1.2-50 in a direction at least parallel to the center axis of the mouth part without being cooled and solidified to be formed into a flat shape 55 and further compressed to form a molded product having a predetermined shape or if necessary, a fluid is further blown in the blow molded product 55 to mold a blow molded product 58 having a predetermined shape.
