PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid dynamic pressure bearing system for a spindle motor having a center mounting screw usable in the combination thereof with a shaft at a specified position. SOLUTION: In this fluid dynamic pressure bearing system, to cover a bearing sleeve 3 in the area of the free end of the shaft 4 at the specified position, the surfaces of a cover plate 9 opposed to each other through an interval by a bearing clearance 7 forms at least one radial bearing area 8 and at least one thrust bearing area 13. The fluid dynamic pressure bearing system rotatingly supports the spindle motor for driving, particularly, the storage disk of a hard disk drive device. The cover plate 9 comprises a cylindrical added part 10 concentric to the shaft. The added part is rotatably stored in a recessed part 15 at the end face side of the shaft 4 so that the bearing clearance 7 can be extended as a bearing clearance 7' between the inner surface of a hole and the outer surface of the added part.
