PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently discharge water in the case that water penetrates a lens barrel. SOLUTION: This invention is applied to a lens barrel which has a lens barrier 40 opened/closed in the front of a photographic lens and a barrier block BR, which has a barrier retreat space SP1 for holding the lens barrier openably and closably and storing the lens barrier being in an open state therein and can be moved forward and backward in an optical axis direction, and has a volume of a barrel rear space SP3 varied by forward/backward movement of the barrier block BR. The barrier block BR is provided with a water discharge hole 51h connecting the barrier retreat space SP1 and the outside and an air passage (consisting of components 52h, SP2, 54H, and 25h) connecting the barrier retreat space SP1 and the barrel rear space SP3, in the vicinity of the water discharge hole 51h, and a flow of air going from the barrel rear space SP3 toward the barrier retreat space SP1 is caused in the air passage when the barrier block retreats.
