PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of improving a color reproduction range and reducing luminance unevenness and color unevenness by performing four-primary-color display by two kinds of light sources. SOLUTION: The display device is equipped with a B light source 101 and a G1 light source 102 which have different light emission wavelength ranges and a fluorescent body film 1094 which converts the wavelength of at least part of light from the B light source 101 and also converts the wavelength of at least part of light from the G1 light source 102; and a plurality of sub-images are generated from one image and displayed on a liquid crystal display panel 105 and light emission is switched between the B light source 101 and G1 light source 102 correspondingly to the sub-images.
