摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which variation of image density and a defective image such as black dot on the part of a photoreceptor to which a charging member is brought into contact are not caused, even when the charging member is left in contact with the photoreceptor for a long period of time under severe environmental conditions such as high temperature and humidity (for example, 30°C, 80%RH), and to provide an image forming method, a process cartridge, and an electrophotographic photoreceptor. SOLUTION: In the image forming method, an image is formed on the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a photoreceptive layer on a conductive substrate through a charging process, an exposing process, a developing process that performs development by using a developer containing toner, and a transferring process that transfers the toner to a transferring material. Therein, the amount of remaining organic solvent included in the photoreceptive layer is 20 ppm or less and, in the charging process, the charging is performed while making the charging member be brought into contact with the electrophotographic photoreceptor.
