PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper control method and a wiper control device to be stopped to always provide high grade feeling without being rapidly stopped when the wiper is stopped. SOLUTION: When a wiper operation switch is turned off, the wiper control device starts speed reduction for gradually reducing the rotating speed of a wiper motor when the wiper reaches a preset speed reduction starting position Rss, and stops the wiper motor when the wiper reaches a downward inversion position RL as a stop position. When the wiper operation switch is turned off, and the wiper has passed the speed reduction starting position, the speed of the wiper motor is not reduced and the wiper is returned to an upward inversion position, and then the wiper decelerates from the speed reduction starting position and stops.
