PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head having high meniscus holding properties and capable of forming a meniscus stably and writing an image dot of desired size stably, and to provide an ink jet recorder employing it. SOLUTION: The ink jet head comprises a planar substrate through which an ejection opening is bored, and a means for ejecting an ink liquid drop from the ejection opening wherein the circumferential edge of the ejection opening is protruding at least partially toward the ejecting direction of ink liquid drop.
