The invention relates to a method and device for regulating the glass gob mass during the production of hollow glass containers. To this end, at least one plunger (2, 2') is placed inside a feeder spout (3), and a variable plunger movement profile is provided for influencing the discharge of molten glass from the feeder spout. For the simultaneous production of an assortment of different weight hollow glass containers, an IS glass forming machine used comprises, for each section, one variable movement profile per plunger. For each preform station, a mass reference value is determined from a mass reference set value and from a mass reference actual value based on at least one of a series of successive drops. For each preform station, the associated plunger movement profile is modified according to the mass reference value difference in such a manner that by repeating the determination of the mass reference value difference and modifying the movement profile, the mass reference actual value gradually approaches the mass reference set value. According to the invention, a regulation of the glass gob mass can be easily carried out during the production of assortments. |
