PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mode selection switch of a photographing apparatus in which the frequency in user's mode selection is considered, in embodying a mode selection switch which is installed in the photographing apparatus which can be operated by at least three sorts of modes, and which switch can select any one mode. SOLUTION: In the mode selection switch of the photographing apparatus which is operated by any one operation mode selected out of first, second, and third operation modes, a mode display part and a mode selection part are included. In the mode display part, a first operation mode in which the frequency in selection is first high is arranged at one end, a second operation mode in which the frequency in selection is second high is arranged at the other end, a third operation mode in which the frequency in selection is third high is arranged at the middle, and they are displayed. The mode selection part is used for inputting a selection command to any one out of the first operation mode, the second operation mode, and the third operation mode by a method wherein the first, the second, and the third operation modes which are arranged on the mode display part are instructed sequentially by an arranged procedure.
