PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accelerator device preventing the drop of an output signal of an accelerator sensor even when an accelerator pedal is kicked up by outputting the signal corresponding to the pedal step-in from the vicinity of the totally closed position of the accelerator pedal with excellent responsiveness. SOLUTION: The accelerator device has a supporting case to turnably support an accelerator arm having an accelerator pedal and an accelerator sensor to detect the turning quantity of the accelerator arm as the accelerator opening. The accelerator sensor includes a sensor lever which is integrally turned together with the accelerator arm, and a sensor substrate to output the signal corresponding to the turning quantity of the lever as the accelerator opening. The sensor substrate has the output characteristic including a variable area to increase the output voltage according to the increase of the accelerator opening and a non-variable area in which the output voltage is constant for the change of the accelerator opening. The totally closed position of the accelerator pedal is set substantially at the boundary between the non-variable area and the variable area in the output characteristic.
