PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive wiper motor having excellent wear resistance and high accuracy which is capable of reducing the number of components and the assembly man hour while jointly using the function of a low friction member by an upper balance plate. SOLUTION: The wiper motor comprises a wiper shaft which is turnably supported by a gear case with a wiper arm mounted on a tip part thereof, a helical gear engaged with a worm of a motor shaft, a rocking gear which is supported by the helical gear in a rocking manner by a spindle, an output gear which is fixed to the wiper shaft and engaged with the rocking gear, upper and lower balance plates which are turnably supported by the wiper shaft to maintain the engaged state of the rocking gear with the output gear, and a cover to cover an opening part of the gear case. A tip of the spindle protruded outwardly from a base part of the rocking gear is slidably engaged with a cam groove of the upper balance plate, and a part of the upper face of the upper balance plate is slidably abutted on a back side of the cover.
