PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mattress obtained by piling up round bars which are the rolls of synthetic fibers such as polyester and acrylic, natural fibers such as wool or the cotton mixed with them. SOLUTION: The synthetic fibers such as the polyester and the acrylic, animal fibers such as feathers, the wool and animal hair or cotton cloth to which the fibers are mixed in cotton is rolled and wound, and short round bars 2 with length in a mattress width direction and long round bars 3 with length in a longitudinal direction are formed. A lateral bar layer is formed by adjacently arraying the short round bars in a lateral direction and a longitudinal bar layer is formed by adjacently arraying the long round bars in the longitudinal direction on the lateral bar layer. The lateral bar layer and the longitudinal bar layer are piled up and the whole is covered with an outer sheet 4 made of woven fabric, nonwoven fabric, synthetic cotton or natural cotton.
