Powder metallurgy.-In a method of making flanged bearings faced with a copper-lead structure, a blank formed with a copper-lead structure on the central bore forming portion only is pressed and flanged to the required shape and the flanges are subsequently sprayed with a copper-lead powder and sintered in molten lead in accordance with the parent Specification. The flange faces may be electroplated with copper or tin. The copper-lead powder may be spherical or dendritic and is sprayed to approximately twice the thickness required after machining. |
