The light grid has transmitter and/or receiver units arranged at intervals in an elongated strip-shaped housing, each consisting of an optoelectronic element and at least one optical functional element at a distance from it in the radiation direction. The housing (10) consists of two side walls (14) extending over its entire length that are joined together by transverse struts (20) between the transmitter and/or receiver units.
