Tricycle with geared auxiliary steering mechanism

A tricycle (10) features a hollow main frame member (12) to which a pair of rear wheels (18a,18b) and a seat (36) are mounted. A head tube (14) is attached to the main frame member (12) an a post (32) is pivotally positioned therein. The tricycle front wheel (24) is connected to the lower end of the post (32) while handlebars (34) are connected to the upper end of the post (32). A steering mitre gear (88) is also attached to the post tube (82) within the head tube (14). A steering shaft (54) is rotatably positioned with the hollow main frame member (12) and features mitre gears (72,64) on its leading and trailing ends (74,62). The mitre gear (72) on the leading end (74) engages the steering mitre gear (88) while the mitre gear (64) on the trailing end (62) engages a mitre gear (52) that is removably engaged by a pushing and steering handle (48). The tricycle thus may be pushed and steered by the handle.
