PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly stop a transfer head at specified coordinate position on a board to mount electronic components there at a high positional accuracy, with moving the transfer head horizontally in directions X, Y for mounting the components on the board. SOLUTION: An apparatus comprises a Y-table mechanism 10 having a feed screw 11 at one side of a base 1 and Y-table mechanism composed of a linear motor at the other side. A motor 13 rotates the feed screw 11 to move a transfer head 6 in a direction Y. A linear motor 20 follows up this moving to move along a guide rail 21, resulting in a lack of travel distance which is detected by a sensor to drive the linear motor 20 so as to compensate this lack. Thus the head 6 exactly stops at a specified position to mount electronic components on a board 3 at a high positional accuracy. |
