Imaging is carried out by image acquiring means (101) to acquire image data before at least gradation conversion processing is performed. When an image file is generated based on this image data, the image data and an exposure reference value stored in exposure reference value storing means (107) are recorded. When an exposure correction is indicated, an image processing apparatus (200) corrects the exposure reference value recorded in the image file, and a gradation conversion table is selected from gradation conversion table storing means (203) based on the corrected exposure reference value. Further, gradation conversion processing means (206) execute the gradation conversion processing of the image data based on the selected gradation conversion table.
