Process for forming a flexible seal for civil engineering works

The method involves inserting a band made of compressible material having width greater than the distance between flanks (6, 7) of a rabbet (2) and thickness corresponding to the thickness of a wearing course (3) at rest, by force. The material is constituted of an aggregate of elastomer grains agglomerated by a flexible binder forming a foam material preserving voids between the elastomer grains. An independent claim is also included for a flexible joint for sealing a civil engineering work.
