The line (A) perpendicular to a level plane (L) of the periodically perturbation portion (4), is tilted with respect to optical axis (X-X) of an optical waveguide. When the optical waveguide is made linear without twisting, the waveguide includes a deflection angle plane that varies depending on the position of waveguide in the longitudinal direction : Independent claims are included for the following: (1) method of making optical waveguide type filter; (2) optical fiber amplifier; (3) optical waveguide type diffraction grating device; and (4) method of making optical waveguide type diffraction grating device.
